Quick answer

Choose ECOVACS ULTRAMARINE P1 if you have a larger pool (up to its stated ~1,937 sq ft ceiling), you value its higher 4,800 GPH rated flow, and you're comfortable buying a brand-new 2026 product without dedicated waterline cleaning or a confirmed Canadian storefront yet. Choose Aiper Scuba S1 if you want confirmed floor, wall, waterline and shallow-shelf cleaning, a specific 24-month Canadian warranty, and an established owner track record.

Our recommendation: Scuba S1 is the safer default for most Canadian buyers today, mainly because of its confirmed waterline capability and specific Canadian warranty terms. P1 is the pick specifically for larger pools where higher rated coverage matters more than waterline cleaning.

ECOVACS entered the robotic pool-cleaner category for the first time in 2026 with the ULTRAMARINE P1, positioned directly against Aiper's established Scuba S1. This is a specifications-based comparison, not a hands-on test; all figures are attributed to their source and dated August 18, 2026.

The differences that actually matter

Flow rate: P1 is rated at 4,800 GPH versus Scuba S1's 4,200 GPH — about 14% higher on paper, a spec advantage, not proof of better real-world cleaning.

Pool size: P1's stated coverage ceiling is up to ~1,937 sq ft versus Scuba S1's ~1,600 sq ft.

Waterline cleaning: Aiper Canada's own specification page explicitly lists Waterline as one of Scuba S1's four cleaning zones (with Shallow Areas, Walls and Floors). ECOVACS's current P1 documentation lists floors, walls, platforms and slopes — waterline is not mentioned anywhere we found. We are not inferring waterline capability for P1; if ECOVACS hasn't claimed it, we won't either.

Shallow shelves: Aiper advertises "Expanded 12-inch Shallow Area Cleaning" including sun shelves for Scuba S1; we found no equivalent claim for P1.

Navigation: P1 uses SmartNavi (IMU-based, claimed up to 99% floor coverage); Scuba S1 uses WavePath 2.0 (acceleration/inertial sensors). Different architectures, neither independently tested by us.

Battery life: don't compare 270 minutes to 180 minutes blindly

Aiper Canada's own Scuba S1 page states "Up to 180 Minutes" in its technical specifications, while a separate banner advertises "270 min Runtime Enhanced Eco Mode." The higher figure applies to a lower-duty Eco/maintenance mode, not necessarily a full cleaning cycle. P1's documentation only publishes one figure — up to 180 minutes, specified as Eco mode. Neither number should be read as "this robot cleans my whole pool for X minutes."

Canadian pricing

We could not independently verify current Amazon.ca pricing for either product at the time of this research. ECOVACS lists P1 at US$499.99 on its US site, but that is a US price, not a Canadian one. Check the current Amazon.ca listing before deciding.

Is ULTRAMARINE P1 available in Canada?

It's listed on Amazon.ca, but as of our research, ECOVACS Canada's own storefront does not yet have a dedicated ULTRAMARINE P1 product page. ECOVACS's general Limited Warranty policy does explicitly cover products purchased and used in the United States and Canada.
