More people are turning to AI assistants for product recommendations — but do these platforms actually agree on what to recommend?

We asked four major AI platforms — ChatGPT, Google AI Overview, Perplexity, and Claude — the exact same question: "What is the best natural face cleanser?" Then we compared their answers side by side.

The results: two brands emerged at 4/5 — and both are names that keep reappearing across our face care analyses.

Quick Answer: Which Natural Face Cleanser Do AI Platforms Agree On?

Ursa Major and OSEA tied at 4/5 — each appearing on 4 out of 5 platforms. Cocokind and Pacifica followed at 3/5. With 23 total brands and 15 appearing on only a single platform, the two leaders stood out clearly. This is the strongest consensus in our face care cluster to date.

How We Tested

We queried each platform using the same prompt: "best natural face cleanser" and recorded every brand mentioned in their primary response. We also tracked Google's traditional organic search results as a comparison baseline — Google Organic is not an AI platform. No sponsored results were included.

Platforms tested: Google AI Overview, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google Organic (comparison baseline).

The Results: Which Brands Does Each AI Recommend?

Google AI Overview Recommends:

Ursa Major and Honest Beauty for daily use, OSEA and Blissoma for sensitive/dry skin, Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree and Pacifica Sea Foam for acne/oily skin, and Terra Beauty Bars as a zero-waste option. Google AI also included an ingredient guide and a DIY option using oatmeal and yogurt — the most educational response of the four platforms.

ChatGPT Recommends:

Ursa Major (foaming gel), OSEA Ocean Cleanser (seaweed-infused), CLEARstem GentleClean (for acne-prone skin), and Pacifica Sea Foam. ChatGPT was the only platform to recommend CLEARstem.

Perplexity Recommends:

The most brands of any platform — 11+, including OSEA, Mokosh, Black Chicken Remedies, and Kora Organics as premium picks, plus Cocokind, Acure, Pacifica, Alaffia, Desert Essence, Burt's Bees, and Toups & Co as budget picks under $15. Nine of Perplexity's recommendations appeared on no other platform.

Claude Recommends:

Biossance, Blissoma, and Ursa Major (top overall), 100% Pure Fermented Rice Water Cleanser, Cocokind (budget-friendly), and Jackfir (EWG Verified, jojoba bead exfoliant). Claude was the only platform to recommend Jackfir and the only one to specifically highlight EWG Verified certification for a cleanser product.
