The Jack Pine Stained Glass Mosaic Panel

Description

This handcrafted stained glass mosaic artwork features a jack pine woodland scene reminiscent of Group of Seven artist Tom Thomson's Algonquin series of iconic paintings. It was created using hand-cut pieces of transparent and translucent stained glass adhered to the clear glass sheet permanently mounted in a recycled vintage solid wood frame (13 1/8" x 13 1/2" measured to the frame's outer edge). Once the image was created with the coloured glass, it was grouted using light beige grout. Includes a hanging kit. Glass-on-glass (GOG) mosaics blend the transparency of modern stained glass with the intricacy of mosaics. The result is a detailed artwork that "glows" when light is transmitted thru it. The glass artworks look beautiful when they are backlit by natural light, intended for indoor display. All windows and most frames used for these artworks are vintage.
