Blue jays in Maple Tree Stained Glass Mosaic Panel

Description

This gorgeous handmade stained glass mosaic features a pair of blue jays perched on an autumn maple tree branch. It has been created using hand-cut stained glass adhered to a sheet of clear glass with hand-painted details on the bird and foliage. The mosaic has been finished with charcoal-coloured grout. The mosaic has been permanently mounted in a beautiful repurposed solid wood frame (13 1/2" x 15 1/2" measured to the outer edge of the frame) and includes a hanging kit. A glass-on-glass (GOG) mosaic blends the transparency of modern stained glass with the intricacy of mosaics. The result is a detailed piece of artwork that "glows" when light is transmitted thru it. The glass artworks look beautiful when they are backlit by natural light. Alternatively, they can also be displayed with artificial backlighting. Intended for indoor display. All windows and most frames used for these artworks are vintage. Small signs of age and character such as dings or scratches may be present.
