This original design handmade stained glass mosaic panel features a ruby-throatedThis original design handmade stained glass mosaic panel features beautiful red and yellow hollyhocks stocks. This artwork has been created using hand-cut transparent and translucent stained glass adhered to a clear glass sheet permanently mounted in an upcycled wooden frame (15 1/2 x 12 1/2"- measured to the outer edge of frame). Flower and leaf details have been hand-painted to add depth to the image. The mosaic has been grouted with charcoal-colored grout. Hanging hardware included. Glass on glass (GOG) mosaics blends the transparency of modern stained glass with the intricacy of mosaics. The result is a detailed piece of artwork that "glows" when light is transmitted thru it. The glass artworks look beautiful when they are backlit by natural light. Alternatively, they can also be displayed with artificial backlighting. Intended for indoor display. All windows and most frames used for these artworks are vintage. Subtle imperfections and signs of character may be present.
